Whilst we are waiting for our new batch of alpaca fibre we have been experimenting. Our latest Southdown sheep slivers arrived from Rampisham Hill Mill just before Christmas and we wondered if they would make a good replacement for alpaca when making our felted soaps. It turns out the Southdown fibre works brilliantly! It is slightly rougher than the alpaca so provides more exfoliation. It is just as soft and squishy to handle though and the colours really stand out when felted. The new soaps are available online and we will also be bringing them to our markets over the coming weeks.
New felted soaps!
